Zooey Deschanel

Zooey Deschanel

God, I love this girl! hhas
I have always loved her since the very first time I saw her: beauty with attitude. I love that she is beautiful, and that doesn't make her any less tough. I love the quirkiness in her, that she has her own 'signature' in all the movies and the works she does, I love that she can also sing, and I totally love how I can relate to her and almost all of her characters.

"I love old music, old movies, screwball comedies, vintage clothes and basically I'm an old-fashioned gal."
-Zooey Deschanel

She and I share the love of these things: music (esp piano and jazz), vintage, oldies stuffs, philosophy.. I, too, never feel that I am this cutting-edge girl, who is always up to date and always loves or has the newest things. I never belong to the coolest kids in town (anak gaul, in Bahasa). And from her profile -that I've read, neither does she. Like Zooey, I mostly love classical, long-lasting things. Like Zooey, I don't like going out too much, except at times when I really want to go and hang out.

beautiful outfits she's got in 500 Days of Summer, no?

"I don't really like to go out very much. I'm not scandalous. I'm not, like, in this to be famous. I also find it so embarrassing when you read about people and it's like they were so trashed at Skybar and stumbling around. I don't want to be that person. That's just so embarrassing to have that written about you."
-Zooey Deschanel

Too bad though she is allergic to dairy. Otherwise we might hang out sometimes and have a milkshake or what :p hhas yeah, she just seems like such a fun and friendly girl to hang out with. Oooh, and I wanna go shop with her! Maybe we can play dress up and go to the theater together. HAHA imagination. But just look at her! This girl has got some serious styles, I mean it! And I love them! I love the way she always looks quirky and charming, but never as if she were trying so hard. hhas

Now I just can't wait till her new series is aired on StarWorld Asia. I'm gonna have her every week on my TV screen! (x

So, it's obvious, no? I am officially obsessed with Zooey Deschanel.

"The fact that people are associating being girlie with weakness--that needs to be examined...Are we bitches because we have our own opinions? If that makes me a bitch, or that makes women bitches, then maybe we're all bitches."

In The ER

Last Thursday (10/27), I was brought into the ER (Emergency Room) in St Boromeus Hospital. My fever wouldn't come down since last week, I kept vomiting, and my diarrhea wouldn't get better. So, my boyfriend Kecoakman rushed me to the hospital, but the clinic was closed already. Hence, we were transferred to the ER. I was infused with two bags of infusion liquid (i don't know what it's called) and I got a shot for my stomach (another term for lambung). The doctor first recommended me to be hospitalized but I said NO right away, horrified about my undone works piled.

So, yeah.. I am feeling so much better now (: I really have to say thanks to everyone who has shown me great loves and cares.. I really love you all, guys (:

May God always bless you all!
Stay healthy everyone! :D

PS. You might wonder though, cos on the day I was supposed to be in the ER, I instead posted two blog posts. How come? hhas to keep my blog running well, I am now using the 'Scheduled Post' feature on Blogspot. That helps me maintaining a frequent posting even though I'm not around at the time. (;

moving, dancing, being free

Thursday, October 27, 2011
One of the things that I miss the most about having free time is: dancing.

Photobucket

Yes, dancing. I'm not one hell of a dancer like you might see on 'So You Think You Can Dance', but I do love dancing. I've been dancing since I was in kindergarten! Both traditional dances and modern dances. I might not be THAT good, but, I don't mind repeating myself, I DO love dancing. And I miss it. A LOT.

I tried practicing a routine from SNSD newest MV 'The Boys' (gosh I LOVE THEM! the new song is sooo cool, I can't stop playing it on repeat :p) a few times during my 'medical leave' (I took a few days off, *supposedly* bed resting). But.. as you probably can guess, it just made my condition worse. Because of that, my boyfriend Kecoakman banned me from practicing again for a few days. BUUUUUT... if I've felt well enough already then I would have to get back to college and the piles of work I left during sick, and this would mean.. no more free time for dancing.. *pout*

I've mentioned before that my activities have been consuming all my times lately, right? Yeah, even my health. :p And I can't lie that I don't miss all the 'luxury' I can have with just a little bit of free time: day-dreaming, reading a good book, watching a good movie, dancing... I really wish that I can have a group of friends who love dancing to the same level as I do, that is not dancing because we've paid for it, or must do it because we have a competition coming up, or having to do it regularly three times a week because we have to, but simply... we dance because we love it. And we may not always have the time to dance intensively, but when we do, we'll practice a routine together. *sigh*

Gosh, I miss those moments..
Can I just find someone who is feeling the way I do now, what with the tight schedule and the miss of dance? I know it's actually my own problem: I just can't find a way to cut any of my activities..

a drop

HELLO THERE, PEOPLE! Oh my God, it's just been TOO long, hasn't it? I'm terribly sorry.. *putting on puss-in-boots eyes* hhas I just have too much going on and I couldn't find the time to blog.. Sorry.. ): I'm also sad to see my blog not running well.. But let's hope it'll get better, 'kay? :D

Anywayyyy....
yo there dawg, 'sup???? :p *does the ghetto style suit me well?*
hhas okay, okay, I know I'm too much of a nerd to be cool, no? But doesn't matter! I am proud to be a nerd! I can be a hot chick as well as a smart nerd, yeah! :p hhas I don't know what's wrong with me, rambling rambling rambling, sorry. :p

OKAY. To the important stuff,
one of the reasons I didn't blog for so long is.. because I got sick. Yeahh, I went to the hospital last week, got my blood sample taken, and I was diagnosed as having the symptoms of typhoid. Meaning, I SHOULD have got some rest, but.. you know me, work work work and no rest. Hence, a low drop last Monday. My condition got worse for at least three days: I got fever, I felt feverish all the time (feeling cold no matter how hot the weather and my body were), plus add the slightest touch of diarrhea (thankfully the last one didn't last long). Being sick sucks! hhas I could barely eat anything, I ran back and forth to the restroom, my whole body hurt..

I am so lucky to have my amazing boyfriend, Kecoakman, taking after me night after night through that horrible sickness *blurgh I hate being sick* and I am so, so lucky to have beautiful friends sending their loves to me, lifting my spirit so that I am pumped to recover really soon! (: I love you all.. You are all my sunshine :*

PS. btw, I just got myself a haircut last Saturday hhas and I MIGHT alter it further, but I'm still not so sure. gonna share some pics later, either I actually do it or not :p but later! I'm so excited!

GINTRE - fin

Tuesday, October 18, 2011
It's been a few days now, but I just really got the time to write this, but.. GINTRE (Gathering and Introducing International Relations) 2011 is officially over! :'D

Yeah, we finally made it! Last Sunday, 16 Oct 2011, was the day of GINTRE 2011. I might have mentioned it, but I'd rather take the extra mile just to be sure, so I'll explain just a little bit about GINTRE. It is an annual event held by the third semester Int'l Relations (IR) students in my university, which is dedicated for the IR freshmen so they can experience being a 'real' diplomat and practice their diplomacy skill. The event consisted of an MUN (Model United Nations - which is a simulation of a UN assembly), talk show, and mascots fashion show.

Photobucket
Matter&Research Division - just before the assembly started

I happened to be the head of the Matter&Research Division, which is in charge of organizing and socializing the materials for the MUN. The theme for the MUN this year is 'humanitarian intervention', and so the assembly was titled "29th Special Session of United Nations General Assembly: Redefining the Implementation of the Humanitarian Intervention (with Regards to Human Rights, Sovereignty, and Responsibility to Protect)".

And... it came up as a great success! *insert standing ovation and happy tears*
I am so, so, SO PROUD of the freshmen. They managed to do so well at the MUN! They are so active and participative, the content of their speech was beyond our (the Matter&Research Division's) expectation.. it's... WOW! It felt like all the hard work we've been putting in is all WORTH IT. Yaaaaay! °•(>̯┌┐<)•°

After the assembly concluded to an end, the talk show with some of the alumni (who've been successful and working in important places like Foreign Dept and ASEAN - wow!) began. It was such an interesting talk show. And when it finally ended, the excitement of the mascots fashion show began!

Photobucket
the mascots of Russia

So, every delegate must have two people dressing up as their country's mascots. In the fashion show, they would walk the catwalk, posed, and promoted their country in 2 mins. They were all so good, and some of them were just plain HILARIOUS! hhas all the people were just so pumped up.

And after that, came the rather sad and touching end. The head of the committee called all the divisions one by one to say good bye in their own way (e.g. dancing, making silly moves, etc.) to the freshmen. This concluded all the hard work of the committee, and this also meant that our work as the committee is officially over :'D huaaaaa I have this kinda love-hate relationship with this kinda feeling: a mixed feeling between happy, proud, relieved, and sad as an event and my work as one of the committee member ends...

I had a great time working with you guys.. (': you are the most amazing people and I can't ask for better partners! And also.... my lovely 'Matterians' (the name I invented to call the members of Matter&Research Division)! It has been amazing, wonderful 6 months working with you. I can never thank you enough for this amazing opportunity (': oh well, now I'm getting emotional (':

To conclude this, I just wanna say that I am beyond happy to have known you guys and to have worked with you guys, both the committee and the 2011 freshmen (: Just remember, our journey in the IR Department is not over yet! Let's keep up this outstanding performance and finish up later (soon, hopefully) STRONG! :D

I love you, people.. I really am looking forward for the next opportunities working with you all. (; Toodles! And cheers to GINTRE 2011! (We're on KOMPAS -a national-wide newspaper-, people! UH-HUH!) :D

happy happy birthday, mom!

Photobucket

Hippsy blastday, my beloved mom! :*

As you might've guessed, today is my mom's birthday! And I feel bad because I can't be with her today in Jakarta, because I still have classes.. *sigh* Well.. but I have sent her a package containing a red gorgeous top and a sweet card with our pic on it, and I really do hope she likes it! *fingers-crossed*

So, with all my heart, Mom, i wanna wish you a happy birthday, and may all the blessings be poured unto you.. I am so thankful for you, for everything you have done for me, for fighting for me ever since Dad passed away.. I know Papa will be so proud (': Don't worry, Mom, I'll meet you this weekend and give you huge kisses and hugs! God bless you (':

Someone

Only once in your life, I truly believe, you find someone who can completely turn your world around. You tell them things that you’ve never shared with another soul and they absorb everything you say and actually want to hear more. You share hopes for the future, dreams that will never come true, goals that were never achieved and the many disappointments life has thrown at you. When something wonderful happens, you can’t wait to tell them about it, knowing they will share in your excitement. They are not embarrassed to cry with you when you are hurting or laugh with you when you make a fool of yourself. Never do they hurt your feelings or make you feel like you are not good enough, but rather they build you up and show you the things about yourself that make you special and even beautiful. There is never any pressure, jealousy or competition but only a quiet calmness when they are around. You can be yourself and not worry about what they will think of you because they love you for who you are. The things that seem insignificant to most people such as a note, song or walk become invaluable treasures kept safe in your heart to cherish forever. Memories of your childhood come back and are so clear and vivid it’s like being young again. Colours seem brighter and more brilliant. Laughter seems part of daily life where before it was infrequent or didn’t exist at all. A phone call or two during the day helps to get you through a long day’s work and always brings a smile to your face. In their presence, there’s no need for continuous conversation, but you find you’re quite content in just having them nearby. Things that never interested you before become fascinating because you know they are important to this person who is so special to you. You think of this person on every occasion and in everything you do. Simple things bring them to mind like a pale blue sky, gentle wind or even a storm cloud on the horizon. You open your heart knowing that there’s a chance it may be broken one day and in opening your heart, you experience a love and joy that you never dreamed possible. You find that being vulnerable is the only way to allow your heart to feel true pleasure that’s so real it scares you. You find strength in knowing you have a true friend and possibly a soul mate who will remain loyal to the end. Life seems completely different, exciting and worthwhile. Your only hope and security is in knowing that they are a part of your life.

Name in the Offing

Friday, October 14, 2011
It was a sticky moment: Harry knew that she had sensed Ron's name in the offing.
-Harry Potter & the Deathly Hallows

When someone tells you a story, which is an interesting story for her/him, but also in which relating to someone (for example, that particular person is the one who told her/him this story in the first place) that you don't like or have problem with, sometimes they would just 'omit' that person's name from their story. It is not rarely that we, when we hear that story from her/him, can feel something is missing. And when we want to clarify it, for example, we ask, 'Who told you this?' The conversation becomes awkward and the one who is telling you just turn their eyes away from yours, as they mumble the answer 'Just a friend of mine', or worse, just ONE unanswering word at all, 'Friend.'. And from there after, she/he would just ignore our further questions if it is anywhere related to the topic. Hmm. Yep, it is definitely just like what's been said in Harry Potter, "It was a sticky moment: Harry knew that she had sensed Ron's name in the offing."

Hhas and then you wonder. What is the reason behind the offing? Is it to respect you, to avoid you from being in a bad mood because she/he mentions the 'forbidden name'? But then you think, "No one forbade anything, I certainly did not." And you wonder again... Is it because she/he doesn't want you to know that they still contact and have talks with the 'particular person whose name is in the offing'? Because if it is the matter, it just gets you even more upset. Because if she/he had just mentioned the 'particular person's name' casually, it would not have been a matter at all! But since she/he decided to make off this particular person's name, you just can't help keeping wondering then: What happened? What is in there that I can not know? What is your exact reason for doing that? Why don't you just mention that particular person's name? Do you really think that I am so selfish or weak that I just can't take it being mentioned? What? Why? What if...

Hhas have you ever experienced such things? It sucks, right? And no matter how much you try not to care, you still do. (or is it just me?) Hhas

So anyone, if you're planning on telling someone a story, that is interesting for you but containing someone that the one you're telling has problem with, you'd better just mention his/her name casually. When a name is in the offing? It's not cool. AND WE ALWAYS KNOW IT. It is a sticky moment, you don't wanna get stuck in it. (;

So, adios, amigos! I'm outta here.
Talk to you later!

A candy for your eyes:

Hello, Goodbye

Thursday, October 6, 2011
Hiiyaa there, everyone! :D
Long time no talk! I am terribly sorry (yet, again) for the absence. But my schedule is just really crazy. Plus, I'm having my mid exams, so.. (;

Anyway, today I just heard the most shocking thing: Steve Jobs, the Apple founder and former CEO, passed away yesterday after a long battle with cancer. It really came to me as a surprise. So I thought, I would like to post something to tribute him and his work. And most wonderfully, by some kind of trick of fate and coincidence, a few days ago, I just received a package. A package with an iPod Shuffle in it. Which means, finally, I have my first Apple product (':

Photobucket

So, you might wonder how come I suddenly got a package with an iPod Shuffle in it (just say yes, you do! :p). Well, as a matter of fact, I got it from Sunsilk. A close senior of mine was in the Sunsilk Goes to Paris competition, and I gave a testimonial to support her on the website. And without knowing it beforehand, Sunsilk picks 3 persons who gave the best testimonial every biweekly to receive a special gift. And, here I am! With an iPod Shuffle on my hand, and in my favorite color (fuchsia) as well! HAHA they're so good at guessing my fave color :p

So, with an iPod on my hand, music in my ears, and news on Steve Jobs everywhere on the internet, let me just say, 'Hello, my new fuchsia friend' and 'Good bye, Steve Jobs'. The world lost a great man today, but thanks to you, I got a new great friend. (': May you rest in peace.

“Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma - which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of other's opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.” -Steve Jobs

I am trying to live by these words of yours; it's a constant battle I am in everyday. I hope I am strong enough and become a winner; who is crazy enough to believe not only in herself, but also in the vision that she can actually change the world, and finally ending up really does. Just like you.
